Hyderabad: Crime Investigation department sleuths recorded the statement of the registrar of NTR University of Health Sciences, Dr Sabinkar Babulal, on Tuesday at  the CID headquarters  regarding the PG Medical entrance test case.

Mr Babulal said, “I am the complainant in the case. CID officials spoke to me. I have replied to all the questions they asked me. A separate examination cell took care of the examination.”
The CID issued an FIR on Monday under 420 IPC (cheating), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and Prevention of Malpractices and Unfair Means In Examinations Act. Students suspected to have bought the leaked question paper are also being questioned.

Officials have been dispatched all over the country after tracking the mobile phones of the suspects. Teams are being dispatched to Chandigarh, Chennai and Mumbai, while verification is being done at the Mangalore Press.

“Most of the suspects are still untraceable. We have picked up a few  and are questioning them,” said an official.

It was found that some of the candidates had secured top ranks though they had failed in some subjects in graduation, while others had performed poorly in PG entrance exams in other states. Five CID teams have been formed to probe into the case.
