Cricket kits seized from Telugu Desam activist

Vijayawada: Police on Tuesday arrested Telugu Desam activist Valluri Venkateswara Rao for possessing cricket kits intended to be distributed among youth in view of the forthcoming polls. According to the police, five cricket kits were found in Mr Rao’s house in which the cricket bats bore pictures of TD Vijayawada parliamentary in charge Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani and Jaggiapet sitting MLA Sriram Rajagopal Tatayya.  Meanwhile, TD east constituency in charge Gadde Rammohan Rao handed over 3,410 saris to officials on Tuesday, stating that he had bought them long ago to distribute among the poor.
