DC initiative catches on
A large number of our readers have offered to teach various subjects to poor children
Deccan Chronicle-backed Teach for Change campaign has evoked a massive response from readers. A large number of our readers have offered to teach various subjects to poor children.
M.R.S.K. Chaitanya, the mind behind Teach for Change, will respond to all mails from readers who wish to volunteer. It will be of help if the candidates attach copies of their qualification documents and biodata with the form. Selected candidates will also be required to meet and discuss the quantum of their contribution.
Below, we reproduce a letter we received from one of our readers.
Great move
It was a pleasure to read the report Teach for a change from this June, (March 26). It is really a great opportunity for people who would like to do something for the country. I am confident that this programme will definitely be a confidence booster to poor children in shaping their careers and a source of immense satisfaction to all who are part of it.
DC has done a good job by joining this programme. The participation of DC in this programme has strengthened it significantly. I request retired professionals like bank and corporate managers, professors, scientists and engineers to share their skills. I am sure this programme will brighten the lives and careers of poor children.
