XDA Forums, a well-known place for Android development and tweaking, has already got the rooting procedure for Samsung’s flagship model, the Samsung Galaxy S5. At present, it has been downloaded over 4846 times.
Chainfire, a well-known developer, has released the rooting hack for the Galaxy S5, which can be done using Odin, the famous manual rooting and the firmware replacement/upgrading tools for Samsung smartphones.
The complete rooting guide for the Galaxy S5 is explained on the forum, and it is as simple as rooting any other Galaxy smartphone.
The developer also warns that the rooting technique is still in beta phase and users adopting the rooting method should double-check the device model number before doing so. Users not adhering to the instructions can end up with a bricked device. The warning also states that the rooting increases the flash counter and will trip the KNOX warranty flag.
Users rooting their device are bound to void all warranties from Samsung, if they do so. The 21.4MB file has already been downloaded more than 4,846 times, as of today, which shows that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is definitely showing eagerness of ownership by many developers and enthusiasts, worldwide.
A senior developer on the XDA Forums, by the name of Leoaudio13, has already mentioned on the post that he is the first one to download the root technique and successfully rooted the Samsung Galaxy S5.
After flashing the ‘CF-Auto-Root package’ as PDA in ODIN, the phone will reboot once and then enter the recovery mode, which then roots the device and goes back to installing the original recovery software from Samsung after rebooting. The device is rooted, and the user needs to install a superuser app from the Google Play Store. Users are then free to install the recovery utility of their choice, once the respective developers develop it.
