Jaswant Singh hits back at BJP
Jaswant Singh says the BJP has 'lost its vision'
New Delhi: Expelled BJP leader Jaswant Singh on Sunday issued a statement lashing out at his former party, saying it had “lost its vision” and “frittered away its virtues” for some temporary political gains by heeding the “petty whims” of individuals.
Mr Singh was approached on Sunday by SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and JD(U) leader and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, with sources in these parties claiming they “not only sympathised with him”, but also invited him to join their alternative front. It is learnt Mr Singh told these leaders that he would decide his future course of action after the polls.
In his statement, Mr Singh said the BJP was no longer what its founders like Atal Behari Vajpayee envisioned, and there was “total confusion” between "values, norms and unacceptable shortcuts.”
