NX mini: A new interchangeable-lens camera introduced by Samsung
Its 20.5MP BSI CMOS Sensor enables users to capture high higher resolution photos
March 31, 2014: Samsung Electronics Co. has launched its new interchangeable-lens camera known as ‘NX mini’. Its 20.5MP BSI CMOS Sensor enables users to capture high higher resolution photos.
NX mini’s 6fps continuous shot feature and 1/16000 sec shutter speed helps in capturing continuous shots. It also freezes fast moving scenes to allow a dramatic capture of motion in crisp detail, without blurring.
The body of this camera is made up of solid premium metal with a luxurious leatherette finish. The 75.2mm (3.0-inch) ‘flip up’ and ‘touch display’, which enables photographers to flip it up to 180-degrees, is what makes this model different from other cameras. Its ultra-slim 9mm wide angle lens also helps in capturing better quality group shots from an arm’s length away.
“Its 3.0-inch flip up display and wide angle lens exclusively designed to address the global passion for 'selfies'. Its lightweight design also means that it can slip in a pocket, for photography anywhere and everywhere,” highlighted Myoung Sup Han, Executive Vice President and Head of the Imaging Business Team at Samsung Electronics.
NX mini also includes a new feature known as the ‘Wink shot’, making it a hands-free capture camera. Users can set up their shot and wink at the camera to capture an image. Once a wink is detected, the NX mini takes a shot automatically after two seconds, without having to press any buttons.
Comprising of 22.5mm ultra slim design, this camera weighs about 158g. This model will be available in five colors white, pink, mint green, brown and black.
