Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s M. V. Sridhar, the BCCI’s general manager of Cricket Operations, will take the place of Indian cricket team’s logistics manager M.A. Satheesh at the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup in Bangladesh. Sateesh was recalled following the recent Supreme Court directive that no India Cements employees should be assigned any job in the BCCI.

Sridhar is already in Dhaka, contrary to agency reports coming out of Bangladesh that quoted the Indian team’s media manager as saying the BCCI has decided not to send any replacement for the remainder of the tournament.

Satheesh has been the Indian team’s logistics manager for a while now and is among the India Cements employees who held posts in the BCCI.

The others are Kashi Viswanathan (member, National Cricket Academy and new area development sub-committees); Prasanna Kannan (chief financial officer of IPL) and R.I. Palani (member, zonal academies committee).

Among players, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravichandran Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, former cricketer Rahul Dravid and cricketer-turned-commentator L. Sivaramakrishnan are employed with India Cements. The court, however, has said that players and commentators who are on India Cements’ payroll can be part of the BCCI.
