Mirpur: India entered the semi-finals of the ICC World T20 by maintaining 100 per cent winning record in Super 10. South Africa, on the other hand stumbled, held their nerves to win against New Zealand, Netherlands and England. But more importantly, they managed to reach the final four stage of the tournament.

These two side have been involved in 7 T20s against each-other. India won 5 games out of those 7. In ICC World T20s too India hold an upper hand over South Africa with the win-loss ratio of 3-1. The last time India played South Africa in the shortest format of the game, they won the close encounter by 1 run.

For India, Virat Kohli is the leading run-getter with 173 runs in 4 games. Rohit Sharma is placed second with 147 runs. Indian spin duo —Ashwin and Mishra — picked 7 and 9 wickets each in 4 games. In this game too, these two will be Dhoni’s wicket-taking options.

For South Africa, Hashim Amla is running the run-chart with 163 runs in 4 games. Duminy is ranked second with 142 runs. Imran Tahir who has bowled well in this tournament and scalped 11 wickets to be the highest wicket-taker for South Africa. Their pace bowling spearhead Dale Steyn is second with 9 wickets in 4 games.

The stakes are high and the rule is simple - winners go to final, losers go home. If India win today, then it will lead them to their second final in ICC World T2O. If South Africa emerge victorious, they would qualify for the World T20 final for the first time.
