New Delhi :The country’s hopes and challenge at the Yonex Sunrise India Open Super Series badminton came to an end after Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap, fell by the wayside one after the other on Friday.

While world no. 8 Saina went down to her nemesis and Chinese third seed Wang Yihan 16-21, 14-21 in the women’s singles quarter-finals, Malaysian world no. 1 Lee Chong Wei inched closer to his third men’s singles title here.

Lee toyed with Kashyap to win 21-15, 21-13 in a 40-minute match at the Siri Fort Sports Complex.
