Poonam Kaur who started her career in K’town with a much-publicised SAC film, Nenjirukkum Varai, could not sustain it as the movie sank without a trace. The talented girl shifted gears and migrated to Tollywood, where too she was considered for supporting roles.

After a brief hiatus, the Punjabi kudi returns to Tamil, thanks to her critically acclaimed performance in the Shaam starrer 6 Candles. The actress has been roped in for a new movie, titled Accharam, which has Ganesh Venkatraman as the lead protagonist. Mohana Krishna, a former assistant to Ramana, Amirtham and Ahmed, turns independent and wields the megaphone.

“A romantic thriller, it’s a three dimensional story and I have a solid role in it. Hope this gives me the necessary break in Tamil,” says Poonam. She is also part of yet another female-centric movie, Vadham. Meanwhile, Ganesh says that he finally got an opportunity to showcase his acting talents in a lead role, which has two looks, after playing in crucial characters alongside Vikram Prabhu, Siddharth and others.
