April 6, 2014: Intel has developed its new next-generation atom chip known as ‘Braswell’ meant for entry-level and low-cost mobile devices.
Braswell will comprise of a14nm architecture, as compared to 22nm manufacturing process on Bay Trail. Reports also stated ‘ availability of this chip in a much smaller size aims at offering better power efficiency and boosts in performance.’ This chip is being developed using Intel's latest graphics technology, Iris.
“Braswell will deliver lower bill-of-material (BOM) cost and higher performance," said Kirk Skaugen SVP and GM of Intel.
