Elections 2014: CPI objects to Congress list
Congress fielded candidates for seats originally offered to the CPI
Hyderabad: CPI state secretary K. Narayana said on Monday that it is quite surprising that the Congress had announced candidates for Assembly seats that were offered to the CPI.
“We were told that one Lok Sabha and nine Assembly seats will be given to us. But it is highly objectionable that they have announced candidates for Station Ghanpur, Ramagundam and Bahadurpura alloted to the CPI during the talks,” Mr Narayana said.
He also said the Congress offer to give Maheswaram (held by P. Sabita Indra Reddy) and Kodada to the CPI in lieu of the three seats is puzzling.
“I have contacted Ponnala Laxmaiah who had returned to the capital just now. He said he is not sure about the announcement of Congress candidates for the seats offered to the CPI. If this is their attitude, we will be forced to file nominations for their seats,” the CPI secretary said.
