EC serves notice to Hema Malini, 3 others for model code of conduct violation

Mathura: Election Commission has taken action against four candidates of different political parties, including RLD candidate Jayant Chaudhary and BJP's Hema Malini, for violating Model Code of Conduct.

"Notices have been served on RLD candidate Jayant Chaudhary and BJP candidate Hema Malini for hiding the actual expenditure being incurred on their election," Model Code of

Conduct In charge ADM Dhirendra Sachan said.

"An FIR has also been lodged against AAP candidate Anuj Garg with Highway police station for violating orders of flying squad, violating Motor Vehicle Act and use of loudspeaker without prior permission of the District Election Officer," Sachan said.

AAP candidate did not stop use of loudspeakers for over an hour, despite the orders from Flying Squad In charge A K Singh.

"Not only he was using two loudspeakers without prior permission of the administration, but continued to use them, despite the orders of flying squad In charge," he stated.

A case has also been registered against five activists of Samajwadi Party, including Mahendra Singh, the nominated member of SP for Vrindaban Nagar Palika, with Vrindaban police station, as they were carrying publicity material in a taxi without prior permission of the district administration.
