Slain officer not one shown on Telivision, says CRPF chief

TV channels telecast footage of a CRPF trooper injured in the attack pleading for help

New Delhi: The CRPF on Tuesday ordered an inquiry into Monday’s blast in Bihar’s Aurangabad district which claimed the lives of deputy commandant Inderjit Singh and two other personnel.

The incident got embroiled in controversy after TV channels telecast footage of a CRPF trooper injured in the attack pleading for help. The TV channels reported that the man on the screen was deputy commandant Injerjit Singh, who later died.

CRPF DG Dilip Trivedi on Tuesday clarified that the trooper was jawan Dilip who is admitted to a hospital in Patna and is alive but injured.”

The man was seen appealing to the Prime Minister, President and DGP to save his life.
