The Election Commission on Friday admonished Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah for violation of Model Code after the BJP accused him of using derogatory words against their prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

On April 02, Mr Siddaramaiah has described Mr Modi as a ‘bundle of lies' while rubbishing the latter's claims that he had developed Gujarat into a model state.

Addressing a Congress party rally at Talikot, near Bijapur Mr Siddaramaiah had said the tall claims being made by Modi about the development and growth of Gujarat are all lies. He said that in all fields, Gujarat was backward and there was no development in the state as claimed by Mr Modi at his rallies. “If Modi comes to power, there will neither be peace nor development,” he had said.
