TV actress Battula Vijaya Rani arrested for fraud

Hyderabad: A month after a complaint was lodged against TV artiste Battula Vijaya Rani, who allegedly duped her colleagues, the Central Crime station police nabbed  her in Bengaluru. She had been on the run since mid-March. There had been allegations that Vijaya Rani, who ran a micro-financing scheme, had cheated her investors, most of them TV artistes, to the tune of around Rs 5 crore.

The cops picked up  Vijaya Rani, along with 10 others, some of them her family members, from Bengaluru. However, the arrests are yet to be announced formally.

According to a CCS official, six teams were formed to nab her. Following a clue from a transportation company in Kukatpally, Vijaya Rani was traced to Bengaluru.
