Kuchipudi, crowdfunded

Hyderabad: Twenty-eight-year-old Hyderabadi, Dulam Satyanarayana, is shooting the first full-length documentary on Kuchipudi ever to be crowdsourced.

Titled Balakka, the docu-film will explore Kuchipudi through one of the foremost exponents of the dance form, Bala Kondala Rao. Satyanarayana, who is based in the US, launched his campaign seeking funds online in February.While the response from home was lukewarm, the community in the US really stepped up the support.
