Top leaders of BJP to canvass in Andhra Pradesh
Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is also expected to campaign for the BJP
Hyderabad: The BJP brass is all set to descend on the state for a campaign blitz. “We expect to yield good results due to the BJP-TDP alliance in AP. The BJP will win at least 50 Lok Sabha seats in South,” said M. Venkaiah Naidu, BJP MP and Parliamentary Board member.
The BJP claims credit for backing the Telangana Bill in Parliament and ensuring justice for the Seemandhra region. This way, it wants to reap benefits in both regions.
To begin with, senior party leader Dr Murali Manohar Joshi will arrive on Saturday for two days of campaigning, said Telangana BJP president G. Kishan Reddy.
“We expect a host of national leaders to campaign in the state soon, including Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and others. Mr Naidu has already campaigned in both regions. The tour programmes of other national leaders will be finalised soon,” Mr Reddy said.
Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is also expected to campaign for the BJP.
Mr Reddy will launch his campaign from Saturday in his Amberpet Assembly constituency and will later tour other parts of Telangana in a phased manner. “We are trying to convince the rebels. We expect them to withdraw,” he added.
