K Chandrasekhar Rao encashed Telengana stir: Chandrababu Naidu
'They are in politics not for people but for self aggrandisement'
Hyderabad: Telugu Desam supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu indirectly criticised TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao when he said some people had collected money in the name of the Telangana movement and had destroyed the state.
Mr Naidu used the Mahatma Phule Jayanti celebrations at the NTR Bhavan to attack the TRS and the Congress while promising to ensure social justice for the new state of Telangana.
He castigated opposition parties, especially the TRS leaders. “They are in politics not for people but for self aggrandisement. They collected money in the name of the movement and destroyed the state. They don’t have the right to criticise the Telugu Desam.”
Without naming Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr Naidu questioned why the promise to make a Dalit the first Chief Minister of Telangana, and a member of a minority community, the deputy chief minister, had been dumped.
“He made the promise to garner votes in the hope Telangana will not be carved out. Now that Telangana has become a reality, he is in a fix. I promise to make a BC (Backward Class) the Chief Minister in Telangana while Mr Modi will be the first BC Prime Minister of the country,” Mr Naidu declared.
Turning his guns on the Congress party he said, “We have to get rid of the corrupt Congress. I am confident the Telugu Desam will come to power in Telangana and Seemandhra. Only the Telugu Desam can ensure social justice in Telangana.”
