Ajax are on brink of 33rd Dutch title
The title will secure Ajax automatic qualification for the Champions League
The Hague: Dutch giants Ajax can clinch their fourth successive Eredivisie title this weekend with three games of the season remaining if results fall in the Amsterdam side's favour.
Ajax are placed six points clear of Feyenoord and will be crowned champions if they manage a better result than their closest pursuers on Sunday.
This would be the 33rd title for the club managed since 2010 by Frank de Boer who also picked up five league titles as an Ajax player in the 1990s.
If and when he secures his fourth title as a manager he will outdo a number of his illustrious predecessors including Dutch national coach Louis van Gaal and Rinus Michels.
The title will secure Ajax automatic qualification for the Champions League, the four-time winners were knocked out of this season's competition in the group stage, finishing third behind Barcelona and AC Milan.
On Sunday Ajax, on 66 points, host mid-division ADO Den Haag, while Feyenoord, on 60 points, are away to fifth-placed PSV Eindhoven.
