Mumbai: Since her brilliant performance in Queen, expectations from Kangana Ranaut have increased manifold and everyone is eagerly waiting for her upcoming film Revolver Rani.

Director Sai Kabir, meanwhile, says that he is under no pressure to match Queen. “I feel that Queen being a blockbuster is a boon for us. We are celebrating Kangana’s success and space. Honestly I am unburdened with industry talks of the 100-crore club.”

The director adds that he was tensed about shooting in the notorious Chambal area, but it was only Kangana’s spirit, which made him to go ahead. “I was quite tensed about the different versions I had heard from people about taking a female protagonist in the interiors of India. I spoke to Kangana and she said, ‘camera leke kud jate hain, joh hoga dekh lenge (let’s jump in with the camera and we shall see what happens)’.” Talking about Kangana’s quirky attires that are grabbing a lot of eyeballs, Kabir says, “Kangana was sporting to get this look. She herself sat with us and contributed to the look.”

While actress Nikunj Malik had recently alleged that Kangana had got her scenes chopped, Kabir clarifies, “It’s a director’s call. Kangana has never entered the edit. I must mention that the film is like a circus; there are so many characters alongside Kangana, who is portrayed like a clown. In fact, Nikunj had called me up to express her unhappiness and I had clarified, but she still went on. Piyush Mishra also called me up as he felt some of his scenes were chopped but he never made a hue and cry,” he adds.

The director adds, “It is not a preachy movie. The treatment of the movie is like a tamasha, which portrays the sickness of the society.”
