Election Commission for re-poll in 3 booths in kerala
Peerumade re-polling will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday
Thiruvananthapuram: The plea for re-polling in three booths is now under the consideration of the Election Commission. This is apart from booth number 12 at Peerumade in Idukki constituency where the re-polling is scheduled for Sunday.
Additional chief electoral officer Sabu Paul Sebastian told Deccan Chronicle that there were complaints of mechanical failure in electronic voting machines at one booth each in Alathur, Wayanad and Ernakulam constituencies.
A final decision on the issue would be taken only after examining the complaints in detail on the basis of the report of the returning officers, Mr Paul said.
Commission sources said the EVM at the polling station in the Anganvady building at Kochukarimtharuvi in Peerumade had malfunctioned from 12 noon on Thursday and hence re-polling will be held there from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. There are 1,138 voters in the booth as per the electoral rolls.
