KARIMNAGAR: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah ridiculed TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday, calling him Pilla Kaki (immature crow) for stating that the Congress manifesto for Telangana was “copied” from the TRS.

Mr Lakshmaiah was in the city to check on the arrangements for Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s meeting here on April 16. Mr Lakshmaiah wondered why the Congress would copy the manifesto of barely a “30-day-old party”.

“K. Chandrasekhar was dubbing the TRS as a movement-oriented party (udyama party). He started claiming that the party was a political outfit. Why would we imitate the TRS manifesto?” he questioned, adding, “Dubbing the TPCC manifesto as copied reflects the inefficiency of TRS followers,” he said.

He claimed that the Congress had vast experience in governing the country for many years and was capable of transforming Telangana into a developed state. He further claimed that the TRS was using models of development – Bangaru Telangana, Industrial Information Technology Investment Region – that were conceived by the Congress. He further said that Mr Rao was a traitor of Telangana, an opportunistic tactician and a selfish leader.
Indirectly citing Ms Konda Surekha and her husband’s induction into the TRS, he alleged that Mr Rao had duped the public by offering tickets to those who had opposed the formation of Telangana state.
