Ranbir Kapoor caught in a dilemma
Ranbir Kapoor is in a fix as he has too many films in his films in his kitty
Mumbai: Right from the start Ranbir Kapoor has stood strong on his stance of quality over quantity. The actor, who is considered one of the finest in the industry today, doesn’t get involved in too many projects at a time, thereby ensuring he is able to give his all to each film he is a part of.
Right now the junior most Kapoor is in the process of wrapping up Jagga Jasoos and Bombay Velvet. But he is caught in a dilemma regarding his next project. Ranbir is just not able to decide which offer he should take up next.
The actor has been, for the longest time, committed to a biopic on Kishore Kumar. Then he has also been offered a film based on the life of Sanjay Dutt, where he will be playing the central role.
The film will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. “Ranbir likes both scripts but unfortunately he can choose only one. Since both the films are biopics, it might not be possible to do both of them,” says a source close to Ranbir.
Being part of a Rajkumar Hirani film will be yet another feather in RK’s cap. “The director of the film is important to him. He has also grown up watching Sanjay’s films and knows him closely, so it will be easier for him to slip into the character,” the source adds.
On the other hand, playing Kishore Kumar will be a huge challenge and it’s something that is up Ranbir’s alley. Hirani, who is done with the shooting of P.K. wants to start work on this film early next year. So now, Ranbir has just about a month to decide whose shoes he wants to step in, Kishore Kumar or Sanjay Dutt.
