TPCC president Ponnala says K Chandrasekhar Rao is dictator
Ponnala warns if TRS was voted to power, Telangana will witness despotic rule
Hyderabad: Telangana PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah called TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao a dictator and alleged that he is known to make provocative speeches and creating enmity between people.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Mr Ponnala warned that if the TRS was voted to power, Telangana will witness despotic rule.
Mr Ponnala said that he was a victim of the Gadi culture, and added that he had seen and suffered at the hands of dictatorial feudal landlords. He said that it was because of this that he left for the US, early in life.
He condemned the claim of the TRS chief being a champion of Telangana state. He asked whether two MPs would have been able to get separate state for Telangana. Mr Ponnala said that he doesn’t want a life like that of Mr Rao who is a “deceiver” and alleged that Mr Rao was promoting rivalry among political leaders.
Calling TRS an elections party, he said the TRS was making false promises that cannot be implemented. Ponnala expressed confidence that the Congress would win a majority of the seats in Telangana, and said that he will be held responsible for the party's performance.
Ponnala said, KCR is an arrogant deceiver. Where was he when Telangana employees took up Sakala Janula Sammea?. He alleged that KCR is holding talks with Polavaram contractors at his farmhouse. He said the Telangana people will reject TRS in the Assembly elections.
Mr Ponnala said that KCR wanted to become Chief Minister now although he had announced in the past that a Dalit will be made the CM. He alleged that TRS gave assembly tickets to those who betrayed the Telangana agitation.
Ponnala said that the Congress has kept its promise on statehood. It is for the people to decide on voting for the Congress. He said if TRS is voted to power Telangana would again suffer under feudal landlords.
