Seniors first, Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ to release 3 weeks before P.K
A major clash has been averted on Christmas between 2 big films
Mumbai: Good news for the industry and the fans as two big films, slated to release on Christmas has now been spaced out from each other. Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’, which was announced on day one that it would have a worldwide release on December 25, 2014, is now changed to November 28, 2014.
Reason, Raj Kumar Hirani’s P.K starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma has been announced on December 19, 2014. With big films having a tendency to have a longer run, it may cause hurdle for another film. So with Anurag having changed his release date, he now has a clear run of 3 weeks till P.K releases.
As for Aamir Khan, he considers Christmas as lucky for having tasted immense success for films like Taare Zameen Par (Dec 21), Ghajini (Dec 25) and 3 Idiots (Dec 23), which released during that time.
P.K release date stands same on December 19, 2014 where as Bombay Velvet will release on November 28, 2014.
Ranbir kapoor said, "I am really proud of the movie. It has been made with a lot of love. The decision to not clash makes sure that the film gets a much wider audience."
