Vice-Admiral Sinha has sought voluntary retirement in protest

New Delhi: Admiral R K Dhowan on Thursday took over as Chief of Naval Staff, with the government deciding to supersede the seniormost serving naval officer, Western Naval Command chief Vice-Admiral Shekhar Sinha for the top job.
 
Following this, it is believed that Vice-Admiral Sinha has put in his papers and sought voluntary retirement, but there was no official word. Vice-Admiral Sinha has also sent a communication to defence minister A.K. Antony on Thursday.
