A ‘magic’ T-shirt?
Pro-Modi ad has group of girls fighting off eve-teasers with a t-shirt
Hyderabad: The great Indian political drama continues to be at its best online with an anti-eve teasing ad of Narendra Modi going viral, and within a few hours being pulled off thanks to an embarrassing typo.
The video clip showed a typical setting of a group of boys passing comments at a group of timid looking girls. The girls continue to move on with lowered heads, until one of them has an epiphany, a solution to not only get rid of the bullies, but also scare them. She reveals her t-shirt, sporting a picture of Modi with his poll campaign promises a safe India.
The tagline reads, “Safety is my responsibility and good governance my aim.”
With women’s safety being among the top political priorities over the last couple of months, the country is also looking for a government that assures security.
But the link that went viral on social media sites backfired thanks to a typo in the title, which read, “Indian girl gives massage to man”, instead of “message”. And soon enough, the video was taken off YouTube.
However, as many netizens pointed out, “the Internet never lets you down”, as more links emerged, and fortunately without the typo. Also, the 47-second clip hasn’t really gone down well with the online community as several commented on how this was the most inappropriate solution to a very real problem the country was facing.
It is still unclear if the ad was fan-made, or an official release.
