Chennai: Vikram Prabhu, son of veteran actor Prabhu, is awaiting release of his next film, Arima Nambi, in which he has sported a stylish look.
Now, Vikram Prabhu plays a villager in his next untitled film, directed by Ezhil. Also, for the first time, he pairs opposite Sri Divya of Varuthapadadha Vaalibar Sangam fame.
The shoot for the film began on Tamil New Year’s Day, April 14, and it’s going on the floors from May. Ezhil, whose last film was Desingu Raja, which starred Vimal and Bindhu Madhavi in the lead, says, “The film is set in the backdrop of a village in Tiruchy and Tanjore. It portrays the lives of the people of the village, Vikram Prabhu playing the son of a musician. M.S Baskar plays the role of his father in the film and Soori is the comedian. It’s a love story, narrated in a different style. The protagonist of the film enters the real estate business against his father’s wish and gets trapped,” he says.
“I planned to rope in Sri Divya, as she is someone who can play a village girl to perfection. I watched her last flick, Varuthapadha Vaalibar Sangam, and decided to cast her immediately.”
