Actor raps for his election campaign in 'Indian cowboy' avatar
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Javed Jaffery , who his famous for his humorous roles in movies, has recently posted a video, where he is seen rapping as part of his election campaign. The actor-turned-politician is the Aam Admi Party candidate from Lucknow and is contesting against BJP’s Rajnath, Congress’ Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Samajwadi Party candidate Abhishek Mishra.
In the 4-minute clip Jaffery is seen in his ‘Indian cowboy’ avatar which was popularised during the release of Bollywood film ‘Salaam Namaste’ which starred Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta in the lead roles. The video opens with the signature ‘Doordarshan’ logo followed by ‘ Saare Jahan Se Acha’ playing in the background.
In the video the actor raps about all the problems India has faced since independence, including the Bhopal gas tragedy, Gujarat riots, demolition of Babri Masjid.
The actor has cleverly used montages of politicians fighting inside the state assembly premises. The video closes with a shot of the Ambani’s residence, ‘Antilla’ and when Javed pulls the flush, it transforms into a slum.
