An actress who aspires to be an IAS
Khenisha has completed the prelims wanted to prepare for the mains
Hyderabad: Khenisha, who stars in Ganapathi Boppa Moria, was an air hostess before she entered films. She was approached to be the face of a mobile advertisement and that is how the journey started. Director Ram Kumar then approached her for Ganapathi Boppa Moria. Even before her first film’s release, Khenisha had already signed her second Telugu film Jagannatakam.
“I liked the script immensely and I accepted the movie. My character in the film is very subtle. She is very fast, very calm and sophisticated, but head strong. She also looks forward to help people,” says Khenisha about Ganapathi Boppa Moria.
Originally from Kerala, Khenisha was born and brought up in Delhi. From childhood she nursed a dream of being an actor. “I am a trained classical dancer and am adept in Bharatanatyam and Mohini Attam. I have also learnt Salsa,” says the actress who has a BSc Psychology degree from Delhi University.
Though she wanted to be an actor from her childhood, she never made any attempts. “It all came to me by itself. A pure stroke of luck. I walked the ramp a couple of times and I used to watch beauty pageants and practise dialogues in front of a mirror,” she says.
Khenisha’s parents were initially reluctant, but later supported her. “My father Chandra works with the Election Commission and he always encourages me. He is my best friend,” she says.
Asked about her IAS preparations, she says that she has completed the prelims. “I wanted to prepare for the main exams and I will write whenever I get time,” she says. Her concentration is now on films and she doesn’t want language to be a barrier. “I would like to act in all languages,” she says. Khenisha adds that she speaks and understands Telugu well.
