Teenager, mother harassed by AIADMK cadre
The teenager refused the love proposal of the AIADMK leader's son
Salem: Over hundreds of Villagers from Tharamangalam staged a protest before Tharamanagalam police station on Friday morning, after the police refuse to register a case against AIADMK functionary and his family member for harassing and threatening a 15 year old girl and her mother.
According to police, 15 year old girl Rajeswari(name changed), who is residing in a rented house in Tharamangalam in Salem. The police said that in the same locality, Santhosh (19) son of Viswanathan an AIADMK functionary, who is studying Diploma course in Salem. Santhosh had fall in love with Rajeswari. However Rajeswari refused to accept his love and avoided her.
On Wednesday morning Santhosh had gone to Rajeswari house, when her mother Maheshwai was there at the house. Santhosh proposed his love matter to the girl and left her home.
The incident came to the notice of Santhosh family members and they went to the girl’s house. Santhosh family members and relatives harassed and threatened Rajeswari and her mother in their house.
On the same day, the girl’s family members have filed a complaint with police. However the police, who were busy with the election duty, refuse to register the case and delayed action over the complaint.
On Friday morning, about five hundred villagers and the family members of Rajeswari thronged before Tharamanagalm police station and staged a protest.
The Tharamanagalam police registered the case against Santhosh, his father Viswanathan, mother Selvi and three others. The police also arrested Santhosh and they are on the look out of five others. Further investigations in the case are on.
