Nizamabad: TRS candidate from  Nizamabad Parliamentary constituency, Telangana Jagruti president Kalvakuntla Kavita on Friday said that the people of Telangana should be cautious about threat from Seemandhra leaders even in the newly carved out Telangana state.

She alleged that Telugu Desam president Chandrababu Naidu and BJP national leader Venkaiah Naidu were seriously trying to prevent the carving out of the new state and are now planning to destroy the spirit of Telangana. She demanded that the hidden agenda of Mr Chandrababu Naidu and Mr Venkaiah Naidu be declared.
In an exclusive interview to Deccan Chronicle, Ms Kavita shared her views on different issues.

Will the TD-BJP alliance manage to have an impact on the TRS’ prospect in Telangana in general and Nizamabad district in particular?

There is no significant impact of the TD-BJP alliance in the soon-to-be formed Telangana state. BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi did not even greet the people of Telangana till date for carving out of Telangana state. It is a great insult to the people of Telangana. Modi is under the influence of the Naidu duo.

Will the Modi factor have an effect on Parliament elections in Telangana ?

The Telangana movement was conducted in a Gandhian way and it was recognised across the globe. Even American media highlighted the birth of a new state in India in a democratic process. Sadly, Mr Modi failed to understand the ground reality and his impact in Telangana is zero. Mr Modi will pay the price for his ignorance on the Telangana issue.

Are TRS candidates in direct fights with Congress candidates?

Bigwigs of Congress in Telangana are struggling to survive. Congress party had lost its credibility and it will be wiped out in the new state. TRS will get a thumping majority and will form the government in the new state, with a new leadership and a new stand.

What are the expectations of the people from TRS, and especially from you?

Usually, people are asking for basic amenities like safe drinking water, roads, sanitation and similar other facilities. In addition, they strongly hope for a better livelihood in the new state. So, we are planning to generate a lot of employment to ensure this. We are also focusing on decentralised development in the new state, which would automatically improve the living standards of the people living here.
What are the major issues, which were ignored during the united state rule, that will get utmost importance?

Gulf migrants and bidi workers are major issues, which have directly affected thousands of families in Telangana. We will pay attention to these issues and sort out the problems.
