Ramdev’s ‘honeymoon’ jibe at Rahul
Baba Ramdev launched a vile diatribe against Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev launched himself into a vile diatribe against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday after he claimed the politician was going to Dalit homes for “picnics and honeymoons.”
Ramdev is an ardent supporter of Narendra Modi and the comments were made during a speech in Lucknow. The self-appointed guru also compared himself to Mr Modi saying the two were “fakirs by choice” while Mr Gandhi had simply “failed to find a suitable girl.”
“Mr Gandhi used to visit Dalit households to experience a honeymoon. And if he had married a dalit ki beti (daughter of a dalit), then by now he might have become the Prime Minister. I wonder why he is not marrying a dalit girl. The girl would become rich too," he said.
Continuing his conspiratorial note, Ramdev added that Sonia Gandhi was “worried” about Mr Gandhi “marrying an outsider” as that would hurt his Prime Ministerial aspirations. He believes this is why Sonia wants “Rahul to attain the top post and then marry an outsider.”
“Mr Gandhi’s tryst with bad luck has just started. He is not inclined to get married to a desi (an Indian) and he and his mother know that the Congress vice-president will not become the Prime Minister if he marries a foreigner,” Ramdev said.
On Priyanka Gandhi, Ramdev said that when it came to her husband’s matter she said her family was being humiliated but what was happening when “I was targeted and 1,000 cases were lodged against me”.
