Jayalalithaa to leave for Kodanad
Several prominent politicians have chosen to relax their overworked muscles
Chennai: Exhausted by the hectic month and half long campaign for the just concluded Lok Sabha polls, several prominent politicians have chosen to take a sabbatical to relax their overworked muscles.
Chief minister J. Jayalalithaa would be leaving for Kodanad estate. DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin would be flying to Hong Kong along with his family on Sunday. Tickets have been booked for Stalin, wife Durga and children and grandchildren to Hong Kong. Sources close to DMDK leader Vijayakanth said the actor-politician had also planned a trip to Hong Kong and Singapore. Vijayakanth will leave in a week or so, sources added.
However, there are a few exceptions like PMK leader Dr Anbumani Ramadoss who’s content staying back home, unmindful of the tiresome campaign. In fact, PMK insiders said that Dr Ramadoss junior might be leaving for North India to campaign for BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi besides cementing his ties with the saffron leadership to win ‘steal’ a cabinet berth in the event of the BJP forming the government at the Centre. However, 90-year-old DMK president M Karunanidhi, who braved ill-health and still managed to campaign aplenty, appears not to have planned any summer tour this time around. The nonagenarian would do what he does best visit Anna Arivalayam and write for party organ Murasoli.
