Mental Balakrishna good actor, not good leader: Y S Sharmila
'If we elect mentally unsound persons, we too will become mentally unsound'
Hindupur: YSR Congress has launched a scathing attack on Nandamuri Balakrishna, the Telugu Desam MLA aspirant from Hindupur Assembly segment. YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Y S Sharmila reminded people of the actor’s criminal past.
Balakrishna had shot at producer Bellam Konda Suresh, and had subsequently got a certificate from a psychiatrist stating that his “mental condition was not good.” "If we elect mentally unsound persons, we too will become mentally unsound. Balakrishna may have been a good actor, but one who can’t be a good person, can’t be a good politician,” she said.
Taking a dig at Balakrishna’s screen image, she said, “Slapping thighs and twirling moustaches do not make one a good leader. A good leader is one who tries to understand the problems of the people." She said that TD president and his brother-in-law never fought for the people and spent most of their time playing “dirty politics” in collusion with the Congress.
“Mr Chandrababu Naidu backstabbed late N.T. Rama Rao. Yet, Balakrishna, NTR’s own son, is now getting close to the same person. Such a leader has no moral right to accuse Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of anything,” said Ms Sharmila. “Jagan had turned down all political posts just to take up the Odarpu Yatra, can’t be compared to a person like Balakrishna,” she said.
