London: A French woman whose name sounds like Al-Qaeda was stopped from entering the United States.

Aida Alic, 33, arrived at Geneva airport on Wednesday with her husband and two children to fly to New York for a holiday. However, the airlines informed her that she was not allowed to fly into the country, as per US authorities.

Alic was given no further explanation and her family was forced to return, the Daily Star reports.

According to the report, after searching US travel sites to know the reason for being denied from entering US, she concluded it was because of her name, which appears as surname first on her passport.
