Dhanush bags a prestigious award

Dhanush’s foray into Bollywood with Raanjhanaa, opposite fashionista Sonam Kapoor, was both a critical and commercial success.

The actor was lauded for his portrayal of a naïve youngster which had two shades. The chemistry between the dusky star and the daughter of Anil Kapoor received much accolades from Kollywood and Bollywood filmi circles alike. Now, the Mayakkam Enna hero has bagged the illustrious IIFA Award for Best Bollywood Debut as Lead Actor for the Raanjhanaa this year.

An elated Dhanush took on to Twitter to share his excitement. He posted, “My first iifa :) thanks for all the support and love guys. Without your support would n have been here.”

Dhanush is awaiting the release of musical hit Velaiyilla Pattathari and is donning the greasepaint for his second Bollywood flick, directed by R. Balki. Akshara Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan will be seen alongside Dhanush in the lead roles.
