If all the campaigns and the social media hype have still not influenced you to vote, take a look at what various organisations are offering you for voting day.
A students’ initiative
For the students of BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad, “Siri” stands for two different things one is found in their iPhones and the other is the one that will be taking them to the polling booths to vote. Ranga Teja, a final Year Mechanical Engineering student says, “Siri stands for Society Involved in Reinventing India. If we want to see a changed and better India, then the students need to get involved… For the polls on Wednesday, the management has given us the college bus and we will be taking around 800 people, students and faculty members, to the polling booth free of cost. This will be on from 7 am to 6 pm.”
Don’t worry about leaving the kids alone
If you are worrying about leaving the kids at home while you go to vote, worry no more. Children’s Skill training centre in West Marredpally is offering to take care of your children between the ages of 5-14, from 10 in the morning, for while you step out to vote. The children will be engaged in fun activities like dance, music and painting and the parents can pick them up after they have voted.
How about a free ride?
Urging everyone to go out and vote, city cab service Uber is offering two rides worth Rs1,000 for free from 7 am to 7 pm on poll day. The company has also urged youngsters to take senior citizens along with them and post a photograph on social media for more Uber credits. Siddharth Shanker, the General Manager of Uber Hyderabad says, “We have a user base that is primarily young and tech savvy and we want to encourage them to take elderly citizens in the cab with them. This is the least we can do to give back to the cities that we operate in.”
And after, celebrate your vote
After voting, you can hang out with your friends at Blue Bottle Café, Madhapur and avail a 10 per cent discount on the total bill or opt for a scrumptious dinner at Flying Sphagetti Monster, Jubilee Hills with a 25 per cent discount. To avail of the discount, just show your inked finger. You can also go in for a relaxing day at the Green Trends salon and get services worth Rs200 free.
