Samsung unveils Galaxy K Zoom, 20.7MP smartphone camera

Almost a year ago, Samsung had launched the Galaxy S4 Zoom which was a mix between the S4 mini and the Galaxy camera. It featured a 16.3MP camera back then. This time, the K Zoom is almost here (expected to be on shelves in May) and it features a better hardware. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, announced the new camera specialized smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy K zoom. The Galaxy K zoom is a new smartphone that blends a digital camera with Samsung’s industry-leading Galaxy experience.
The K Zoom packs-in a 1.3GHz quad-core processor along with a dual-core 1.7GHz processor. Yes it is a hexa-core chipset, the Exynos 5 Hexa (5260) has been used inside which combines 2GB of RAM and a MALI-T624 graphics processor.
The main highlight of the product is the 20.7MP camera with a xenon flash on the rear. It sports a 10x optical zoom with an optical image stabilizer, a focal Length of 4.4 - 44mm, and an aperture of F/3.1-F/6.3. ISO modes include Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 and 3200.
The display is a bit disappointing though—featured here is a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of just 1280x720 pixels. An internal storage of 8GB has been provided and it can be expanded using a microSD card. Connectivity options include 3G, LTE and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and GLONASS. Lastly, the Android smartphone—er—camera runs on Android 4.4 Kit Kat. The Galaxy K Zoom is 20.2mm thick and weighs 200g and a 2430mAh battery fuels the device.
