Hyderabad: Bandari Lakshma Reddy, the Congress contestant from the Uppal Assembly Constituency, said he will support the widening of the Uppal main road, that has been pending for a decade now.

“I have conducted a padayatra in almost every colony, basti, slum, gated community, apartment and industrial cluster in the Assembly segment. All sections of people, including people from the SC, ST, BC and minority communities, have extended their support,” he said.

Mr Reddy said he will work for a corruption-free administration in the Assembly segment and added that his ambition was to make Uppal a slum-free constituency.  Objecting to the word “settlers” being used by some politicians, Mr Reddy said, “I will stand by every citizen to protect their lives and properties irrespective of religion or region. Only a secular party like Congress can deliver justice to Telangana.” He said he will work towards improving water supply, protecting water bodies and developing parks.
