Name-calling by netas upsets voters
Many people feel that differing statements made by candidates hardly makes any sense
Hyderabad: The bitter war of words between Congress and BJP, the two dominant national parties, has become a talking point in the city. A day before going to polls, many were found discussing or exchanging ideas about this constant spat, which has ended up being rather irritating for some.
Anuj Gupta, an IT professional explained, “It is coming across as a childish spat. And that too so many kilometres away from each other, they are busy hurling abuses. Can’t they just sit together in a board room and finish it off face-to-face.”
Many like him feel that it is an unnecessary drama. And as a result of these personal attacks, many pressing issues facing the public are being largely ignored. One of the pressing issues, according to many voters is the growing challenges in urban areas.
Dr R. Ramkrishna writes on his profile, “It merely shows where we are headed! The moot problem for us in today’s scenario is to get the right person who will get us out of this situation and stop name-calling individuals.”
Many likeminded people feel that differing statements made by candidates hardly makes any sense, let alone restore the public’s faith in politics. They feel serious debates, discussion and tabling of facts are must. But this is not being done and denizens feel that manifestoes don’t make sense unless there are honest efforts to implement the promises made in those.
