With just over 40 days to go until the World Cup in Brazil, the slow trickle of national team songs is turning into a hit parade.Defending champions Spain are the latest to launch their bid for chart domination with a tune called Buena Energia (‘Good Energy’), and some leading members of the squad lend a hand.
Diego Costa features with a cameo on the bongos, Xavi has a good bash on the drums and Iker Casillas picks up the tambourine in the video. Musicians Maldita Nerea are behind the ‘effort’ and it’s fair to say it won’t take a place in the pantheon of great World Cup tracks.
Pictured training alongside Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta and Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba, Xavi, Casillas and Costa are seen practising their trademark flicks and skills. They then find themselves at a Maldita Nerea gig where, surprise surprise, they’re invited on stage as the backing band while dozens of adoring fans dance around.
