Sharmila Reddy: Chandrababu Naidu did little for Kuppam, can’t build Andhra Pradesh
Sharmila also took potshots at Modi over his tall claims of developing the Seemandhra region
Jangareddygudem: The BJP’s prime ministerial nominee, Mr Narendra Modi, has been accused of knowing nothing about family values when he called on voters to defeat the maa-beta combine. The reference was to both Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi, and to YSR Congress honorary president Y.S. Vijayalakshmi and her son and party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
YSRC star campainer Sharmila said since Mr Modi lives a lonely life having deserted his wife, he knows nothing about family values.
Addressing a large gathering during her road show in Koyyalagudem in West Godavari district on Friday, Ms Sharmila took on Mr Modi over his tall claims of developing the Seemandhra region if the BJP-TD combine is elected to power.
She asked what development had occurred in the three states carved out by the BJP-led NDA regime in 2000, and wondered if even Rs 500 crore was released to develop infrastructure in each state.
At a public meeting at Jangareddygudem later, she took on TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu for announcing a series of promises, including nine hours of power supply. She said that people no longer trusted Mr Naidu who has lost credibility for making false and impractical promises. Though he has represented Kuppam for 25 years, he has done little to develop it, she said. People are not in a mood to trust his promise to develop Seemandhra on the lines of Singapore, she said.
Mr Modi boasts of development but does he know how many welfare schemes were initiated by the previous YSR regime and how many are going to be launched by the YSR Congress once it assumes power in the state, she asked.
