Ongole/Vijayawada: Actor-turned-politician and founder of Jana Sena party Pawan Kalyan expressed fear that Naxalism would resurface if YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was voted to power in the state as it was during their regime that natural resources were robbed from the state.

Pawan came to Ongole on Sunday to participate in the TD election campaign and addressed a public meeting at ABM College grounds.

He alleged that late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy robbed natural resources from the state that provoked the Telangana movement and divided the state. He alleged that thousands of people became landless due to snatching away of lands for Vanpic.

He was afraid that those who were robbed of land would revolt and that would give a chance for the Naxalism movement to resume in future.

The Jana Sena chief said that he had once even considered leaving India unable to see the robbery of public money, but decided to fight against corruption. While campaigning for the TD, he recalled that he had played in the streets of Ongole in a local school at Gopal nagar and Clough Peta and that he knew all the streets well. He recalled that his father worked in the excise department there.

In Vijayawada, he said that voters will ensure the victory of NDA.
