Hyderabad airport security beefed up
Scanning and scrutiny of car movements at the airport have been intensified
Hyderabad: The security cover at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, has been increased by 90 per cent after a car bomb threat was sounded at airports in the the Southern region.
Due to the red alert, all access roads to the airport are seeing increased vigilance and security personnel have been deployed in double shifts.
Though the flights have not been affected, frisking activity, scanning and scrutiny of car movements have been intensified.
“The alert has been sounded for all airports in the Southern region. As a result, we have increased vigilance and 10 additional check points have been placed,” said a senior official, adding, “The deployment of manpower has increased and the state police has put up check points at access roads to the airport.”
