BJP demands apology from Congress over their language
'An entire family is targeting Narendra Modi; politics shouldn’t be personalised'
Varanasi/ New Delhi: Hitting out at Congress Priyanka Gandhi for her “neech rajniti” remarks against Narendra Modi, the BJP on Tuesday said the Congress should seek an apology for this from the whole country.
Denying the counter charge of the Congress that it was a ploy by the BJP to use the caste card, senior party leader Arun Jaitley said “This is the word which she had used and particularly in the social context of India, the use of this word has to be avoided. When this word is used in relation to either the persona or the views of a person belonging to a backward community, you are giving rise to apprehensions and therefore if you claim to be a vocational participant in politics, then be sure of the vocabulary you use.”
BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said, “Congress leaders are losing control over their language. An entire family is targeting Narendra Modi. Given the kind of language used for Mr Modi, Priyanka should apologise to him. Politics shouldn’t be personalised.”
BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman said “Priyanka doesn’t understand the negative impact it can have, at the time when this country is trying to extricate itself out of caste politics.”
