‘Mastram’ gets last minute censor clearance
Barely 48 hours before its release film gets cleared by Censor Board
Mumbai: Bollywood film ‘Mastram’ is all set to release this Friday on May 9. Akhilesh Jaiswal’s biopic on famous porn writer Mastram has finally been cleared by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), reported Absolute India.
“They cleared our film with just cleared our film with just two minor cuts, a visual and an audio one.” producer Sunil Bohra was quoted saying.
It was also reported that the CBFC wanted the word ‘badjaat’ to be beeped out in the film, which the makers happily did.
Sunil added, “Until Tuesday we were not being given a Censor clearance. I started wondering if we’d be able to release our film on time! But we finally got what we wanted. We were sure we wanted an 'Adult' certificate. We also knew there was nothing sleazy or vulgar about our film.”
'Mastram' is a Bollywood 'fictional biography' film directed by Akhilesh Jaiswal starring Kapil Dubey and Rahul Bagga.
