Guwahati: Assam CM Tarun Gogoi on Wednesday threatened to snap his party’s alliance with the Bodoland People’s Front if allegations about its involvement in the killing of Muslims were found true.

Mr Gogoi, who visited violence-hit areas of Bodoland Territorial Council on Wednesday, told reporters,“It will not take more than five minutes for me to snap all ties with the BPF if they are found to have been involved in the killing of Muslims.”

Admitting that BPF leaders were accused from several quarters to be involved in the BTC killings, Mr Gogoi said, “I have ordered a judicial probe to find out the culprits. Let us wait for the inquiry report.”

On the demand for dissolving the Bodoland Territorial Council, Mr Gogoi said, “I cannot comment on that as it was created by the Centre and is a constitutional issue.”

Some more bodies were fished out of the Beki river in Barpeta district on Wednesday. The police said they are yet to be identified. It added that there was no report of any fresh incident from any part of the state.
