Prakash Raj’s tussle ends with a ‘sorry’
Actor and Tollywood bury the hatchet
The Prakash Raj issue was amicably settled on Friday with the actor being let off after a stern warning. Director Srinu Vytla had shown the actor the door after just two days of shooting because of the actor’s alleged high-handed behaviour and had lodged a complaint against him. On Friday, both parties placed their arguments before the co-ordination committee and after three hours of deliberations, the committee decided to let Prakash Raj off with a warning. The committee also asked Srinu Vytla to keep the body informed before ejecting actors from movie sets. According to a source, producers Dil Raju, Sravathi Ravi Kishore and Tagore Madhu came to Prakash Raj’s rescue during his appearance.
“Before the meeting, these producers met at Ravi Kishore’s office and decided to support Prakash Raj. They even had a plan and argued in favour of the actor,” says the source. There were heated arguments at one point of time between the producers and the directors’ association as the latter had leaked an incriminating SMS to the media. Srinu Vytla and his producer Gopi Achanta, along with the co-directors who actually gave the complaint, attended the meeting. Among the committee members, AP Film Chamber president N.V. Prasad, Directors’ Association president Veerashankar, Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Ali, Sivaji Raja, Gemini Kiran and RK attended the meeting.
The committee also asked both Srinu Vytla and Prakash Raj to compensate the producer for the loss. “They had shot two days with Prakash Raj and then replaced him with Sonu Sood. The producer incurred a loss because of this and both the director and actor agreed to compensate for the loss,” says a source. When approached, N.V. Prasad, president, AP Film Chamber of Commerce, said, “The issue is settled and is over.”
